Welcome to SCOS 2015 in Nottingham: ‘Home’

Welcome to the website for the 33rd Standing Conference on Organisational Symbolism (SCOS). The conference will be held in Nottingham, UK, between July 11-14, 2015 at Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University, located in the city centre.

The theme for the 2015 conference is ‘Home.’ Work and home are often thought of as separate domains, but for this conference we invite contributions which examine the links and interplays between work, organisation and the home. Briefly, these might examine the incursion of work into home life; aspects of the home featuring in the workplace; workplaces developing cultures and identities which create a sense of being at home or, conversely, the link between organisations, alteriority and a sense of ‘not being at home.’

Please see the call for papers for more detail and further suggestions for potential contributions, including the open stream, and our special symposium on Nottingham’s most famous legend, Robin Hood. We look forward to receiving abstracts of up to 500 words by the deadline of February 1st to scos2015@ntu.ac.uk and to seeing you in Nottingham in 2015.

Dr. Scott Lawley, Dr. Néstor Valero-Silva, Conference organisers
